The Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) is the research arms of the IETF. Every year, the IRTF selects six articles published in the scientific literature that describe recent results in applied networking research that are relevant for future Internet products and standardization. The article « SMAPP : Towards Smart Multipath TCP-enabled APPlications » that describes the first implementation of Tessares’s award-winning path manager was awarded the Applied Networking Research Prize  at the « 97th IETF » meeting in Seoul.
