TELECOM SERVICE PROVIDERS
Proximus is a telecommunications company operating in the Belgian and international markets. It is the leading national provider of telephony, internet, television and network-based ICT services. Its high-quality interconnected fixed and mobile networks provide access anywhere and anytime to digital services and data, as well as to a broad offering of multimedia content. Proximus invests in future-proof networks and innovative solutions to always deliver the best customer experience.
Together with the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Proximus started initial exploratory tests in 2012. Tessares (a spin-off from the UCL) and Proximus now intend to be pioneers in developing telco-grade software solutions based on the “Multipath TCP” standard. Our aim is to create a generic solution intended for telecom operators worldwide. This will allow them to combine the speeds of fixed and mobile networks on their existing network infrastructure, or even to combine the speeds of several fixed lines.
